ABOUT THE ROLE 

JOB PURPOSE: The marketing manager manages the day to day marketing activities of the organization and long term marketing strategy for the company. 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Exempt

MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES/TASKS

 

  •  Manage all marketing for the company and activities within the marketing department.
  • Developing the marketing strategy for the company and its various product categories in line with company objectives.
  • Coordinate with sales to create, implement and manage all product marketing and sales campaigns. Conduct campaign analysis once campaigns are executed and completed.
  • Work with Product Management and Research and Development to obtain information necessary for the creation of informational and promotional marketing materials that support the Company's individual product lines. Oversee the creation and completion of all related materials and identify appropriate mediums and distribution channels.
  •  Support Sales initiatives with necessary accompanying collateral materials  
  •  Write and edit content for marketing collateral including sell sheets, brochures, at-will press releases, trade show previews and post show reviews, trade publication editorials, catalogs, marketing kits and sales kits.
  •  Provide artistic direction for Advertisements and Marketing materials that represents the Company’s branding and product commercialization goals.
  •  Oversee the planning and coordination of the company’s trade shows and events as needed and fall in line with show objectives.
  •  Responsible for GPI’s brand management and corporate identity ensuring the integrity of the GPI brand and that the Company is represented positively in the public eye.
  •  Coordinate and manage external marketing services provided by outside related vendors to ensure that all projects are completed within budget and on deadline as needed.
  •  Oversee the department's marketing resources including all print materials, electronic and multi-media resources and promotional inventory to ensure a continued supply. Update and reorder items as needed. Provide inventory updates and projected expenditures on a consistent basis.
  •  Oversee the distribution of all marketing and promotional materials to sales staff, product managers and international divisions to make sure they have access to all necessary materials.
  •  Oversee management of Ariba, including establishing additional customer catalog accounts as needed.
  •  Prepare the annual budgets and oversee expenses for Advertising, Tradeshow and Corporate Marketing accounts.
  •  Monitor the Company's website to ensure that all content is up-to-date and accurate and provide recommendations for product and other features to maximize site effectiveness.
  •  Assist with the preparation of materials for use in sales meetings, quarterly management meetings, Board meetings and key customer meetings.
  • Preparing online and print marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications.
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant departments are kept informed and up to date of marketing objectives.

ABOUT YOU 

EDUCATION

  • Minimum BS in Marketing or related field require.

CHARACTERISTICS & ABILITIES 

  •  Must be able to successfully handle multiple tasks and projects and concurrently meet deadlines.
  •  Able to exercise independent judgment and make decisions accordingly.
  •  Able to guide one's own work flow, priorities, resources and/ or performance without external controls or influences.

  •  Reliable employee that can work independently 
  •  Follows all GPI procedures
  •  Ability to work within a team environment

  •  Perform additional duties as needed

EXPERIENCE

  •  At least five years marketing experience in a managerial role.
  •  Experience in Adobe Creative suite applications preferred.
  •  Experience with MS Office Suite of applications.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

  

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Activities including sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending and lifting.

MENTAL/PHYSCAL REQUIREMENTS

  •  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.
  •  Occasional lifting/ carrying of objects with weights of twenty to fifty pounds.
  •  50% travel, including some international travel, will be required.
  •  Required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop and use hands and fingers to grasp and feel.
  •  Vision requirements include peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus with frequent computer usage.
